FASHIONISTAS everywhere will only be thinking about Mii this summer, after Seat and fashion retailer Mango announced a team effort to produce a special edition city car. The Mii by Mango is just the first step in a partnership between the two Spanish giants, tweaking the surprisingly spacious little car with unique styling details and a special colour option called Nude. Ford Motor Company has put aside $1million to be awarded in automotive design scholarships over the next 20 years in order to commemorate the life of William Clay Ford who passed away on Sunday. The Ford Fund will release $10,000 each to five college sophomores or juniors per year who are following a career in car design. William Clay Ford was the last surviving grandchild of company founder Henry Ford and design was his lifelong passion.
LaunchPad, the graduation show of the University of Huddersfield's Transport Design degree course, opened June 8th as part of the School of Art and Design's Graduate Show week. Huddersfield is located in northern England between Manchester and Leeds. Featuring work by the 19 students on the course, this year's graduates investigated a range of themes and produced a variety of design solutions.
